I’ve looked into mirrors all of my life,
Of the reflections some were good, but mostly confusion, doubt, worry and
strife.Then one day I asked myself some questions;
“Is this what life is all about? “Is this really who you’ve always dreamed you
would be?”
“Are you a person with purpose that’s committed, strong, victorious or wise?”
I knew that I wasn’t and I was tired of living a life of lies.
I tried everything I knew to make my life right.
I fought so long and hard, I was just plain out of fight.
I had come to the point I had no where else to turn,
So I asked God for help and promised if He did, I would humble myself to Him and
learn.
It wasn’t long after that I met a man.
He understood my problem and said he had the answer at hand.
He said; “Here, take this mirror.” It wasn’t like one I’d ever seen before.
It was covered with leather and had pages old tattered and worn.
Then he said; “Reflecting from these pages is the man you’ve always dreamed
you’d be,
Listen to what he tells you, walk out in what he says, and then you’ll see.
So I studied the man on those pages, I gazed upon his life,
I studied every move he made from morning until night.
Step by step, precept upon precept, principle upon principle, the mystery
began to unfold.
He systematically taught me and enlightened the eyes of my understanding to
those things new and of old.
It was all so hard to believe at first, but it was all so true,
A new life ahead, a walk like Christ’s, and to think I was chosen of a few.
Now when I look into a mirror, what do you think I see?
A son of God, steadfast upon the Rock, Jesus Christ. Speaking words of life from
sea to shining sea.
A believer equipped with power, prepared with God’s sword in hand,
Advancing into the spiritual battle, destroying Satan’s band.
Victory after victory, “It is written.” I now can say,
All because God is faithful and I am disciplined to obey.
Now you look into a mirror and tell me what you see.
Better yet, here, take my mirror and I’m sure you will see what you have always
dreamed
To be.
