A Lesson of Deliverance from Job

Job offers an insightful lesson on receiving deliverance. Very few people on this earth have faced the challenges that Job did. In the end he arose victorious and blessed with abundance. Job’s deliverance offers insightful learning, so that we too can walk with God’s deliverance in our life.

The following 3 responses by Job identify important traits that provided Job’s deliverance and blessing in the end.

Job 13:13-18:
Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will
Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

Job 23:10-12:
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Job 27:3-6:
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

A common thread woven throughout Job’s responses is his steadfastness on believing God. He recognized without a shadow of a doubt that he was right before God. The following excerpts from these verses give us some insights we can incorporate in our life.

“I trust in Him”
“I have ordered my cause, I know that I shall be justified.”
“His way have I kept.”
“Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips.”
“I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.”
“I will not remove mine integrity from me.”
“My righteousness I hold fast and will not let go.”

What a dynamic record of deliverance God has given us in His Word, so that we too can take on the challenges of the adversary and stay put on the truth of God’s Word.

The integrity of God’s Word is always being confronted. As we stay faithful on the truth that God delivers and provides abundance of blessings to His people, we too can experience the victories that Job did.
