For over 40 years Moses commanded the children of Israel. As a result of
their rebellious nature to go against God’s way, they ended up 40 years in
the wilderness doing it their way but going no where.
There are many ways to live life. But when you really consider it, there
are two ways to function, His way or our way. God never promises to prosper me
in my ways. We learn His ways and walk in His ways, then we prosper.
Isaiah 55:8-11:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are
your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways
higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not
thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it
may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return
unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall
prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
God’s way is the Word’s way. God’s will is His Word. As we forsake
our ways and follow His ways we will prosper in many ways.
Deuteronomy 32:4:
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his
ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and
right is he.
As born again believers (Romans 10:9), God’s way is to realize that the
only life-style worth living is the Christ within life-style.
John 14:6:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.
Romans 6:11-13:
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive
unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in
the lusts thereof.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness
unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the
dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Galatians 2:20:
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Our privilege is to recognize how Jesus Christ identified with us, so that
now by our freedom of will, we can identify with him in all the glory of being
sons of God with Christ within!
The avenues of the world offer attractive pleasures of worldly success, but
when all is said and done, it is His ways not ours, that is most rewarding.
Jeremiah 9:23 and 24:
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the
rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth
me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment,
and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight,
saith the LORD.
Man, in his consideration of which way to go in life, can find no greater
worthwhile foundation in life than Christ.
I Corinthians 3:11-14:
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus
Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones,
wood, hay, stubble;
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s
work of what sort it is.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a
reward.”
The eternal rewards far exceed the temporary riches the world offers. All
these worldly accomplishments will turn to ashes at the judgment seat of God.
For the believer who chooses God’s way – the Christ within life-style –
he will build a monument of rewards that will be enjoyed for all eternity.
