Colossians 1:12-14.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of
the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us
into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
The heart of thanksliving grows as we recognize more and more that God’s
Word is true and all else is temporal. We continue to renew our mind to who we
are in Christ so that the pains and sufferings of life are kept in
perspective. The reality of the new birth, becoming sons of God and joint
heirs with Christ, and members of the one body as well as having the hope of
Christ's return, need to take precedence over what the world says. Our
life-style becomes one of giving of thanks or thanksliving.
II Corinthians 2:14.
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in
Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every
place.
I Corinthians 15:55 & 57
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy
victory?
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ.
I Thessalonians 5:18.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
The world competes with your new nature as a son of God to determine how
you will react to situations. Will it be an emotional outburst because we are
world conditioned or will it be at peace because we are Word conditioned. Let’s
make up our mind and live with quiet assurance and thanksgiving.
Colossians 3:15-17.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are
called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and
admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
