A Gift For Giving

We all enjoy receiving a gift. How we use that gift may vary depending on what it is. I still have some gifts hanging in my closet that have never been used. Other gifts I use all the time with great benefits to myself and others. There is one gift I received a number of years ago that far exceeds all other gifts that I have ever received. The benefits to me have been astounding. This wonderful gift has also proved to be extremely beneficial to others as I use it with the love of God.

That gift is the gift of holy spirit, which God gave me when I became born again by confessing with my mouth the lord Jesus and believing in my heart that God raised him from the dead. (Romans 10:9).

A gift is something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation. A gift is not earned. God in His grace and mercy gave us His gift of holy spirit when we got born again.

Ephesians 2:8:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

The gift of holy spirit is wonderfully designed to bless yourself and others. We by the freedom of our will can choose to operate it, for not only blessing ourselves, but by service to others. What a thrilling opportunity to genuinely help and serve in the Body of Christ.

God exhorts us to be “imitators of God as dear children” (Literal of Ephesians 5:1). The one great reality of our Heavenly Father is that He is a giver. He so loved that He gave, not only His son to die for us but to make available to us the new birth realities of having the gift of holy spirit. With this gift come rights, privileges, abilities and responsibilities to walk with the Father so we can be givers of God’s magnificent power and love to bless others.

Here are just some of the resources we have within to give and bless others.

· The capacity to live the love of God.

Romans 5:5:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

· Ability to operate 9 manifestations.

I Corinthians 12:7:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Not only are we filled with the power of God to do wonderful things, but He has also given us responsibilities along with these abilities.

· Reconciling man to God.

II Corinthians 5:18:
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

· Being servants of righteousness

Romans 6:18:
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

We surely have a most precious gift within us to effectually and lovingly bless the family of God.

Now our life means something because we have His gift of holy spirit in us. It says in Ephesians that we are to the praise of His glory!

Ephesians 1:12:
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Now we use this gift to give to others.

I Peter 4:10:
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

God has made an impact on our lives with the gift of holy spirit. Let’s make an impact in the world by using it with the love of God. When you wake up in the morning think of yourself as a gift, filled with the power and love of God, and say, “what can I give today.”
