There is this special feeling of inner joy when the family gets together. It is hard to describe, but most families will exhaust all efforts to make arrangements to be together for the holidays or at special times. Truly there is a comforting feeling when members of the family gather.

Jeanie and I are home alone with our 3 children living on their own. But when they call or visit for even a few minutes we get that joyful feeling, only a parent knows, but can’t describe. Even if Jeanie talks with them and says, “one of the kids called today,” I feel at peace inside and am very blessed to know they called. Our family fellowship must be the foundation of that joyous feeling. Imagine how our Heavenly Father must feel when we take a little time to communicate with Him.

Family time must be special to the Heavenly Father since He made a relationship with Him so assessable. We should recognize the value of family time from God’s perspective. He must, like all parents, have that special joyful feeling when His children fellowship with Him. He loves family time as much as we love family time with our loved ones.

As we meditate upon God’s Word it is family time.

When we speak in tongues it is family time.

When we pray to the Father it is family time.

When ever we go to fellowship to be with our brothers and sisters in Christ it is family time.

…and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His
Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

I John 1:3b&4.
