Man has devised a whole bunch of ideas on how the relationship should be
between him and God. (They are called religion).
By simply understanding that God made man, aren’t we better off to let
God figure out how the relationship between Him and man should be.
You can study all the writings of man and all the writings of God. What
stands to be correct and true is the integrity and accuracy of God’s Word.
God made a decision long ago on what kind of relationship He would
establish with man. Thankfully for man, God’s decision was not based on man’s
goodness, but on God’s goodness and love.
When all is said and done by man and God, what remains is the most loving
relationship ever devised. A deep, loving Father image motivated God to make
the relationship a done deal by the unthinkable price of the life of His son
--Jesus Christ being sacrificed.
Romans 5:6-11.
“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good
man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from
wrath through him.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement [restoration to favor].”
The reality of our true relationship is “…not that we loved God, but
that He loved us, and sent His son to be the propitiation [payment] for
our sins.” (I John 4:10). It is a done deal. All man has to do is “That if
thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
