Follow These Simple Instructions
When you get up in the morning When you wash your face and get dressed When you eat your meals When you wash the dishes When you go to work When you go for a walk When you play sports When you sweep the floor When you play a musical instrument When you sing When you put gas in your car When you witness to a new person When you talk to a fellow believer When you go to fellowship When you minister to someone When you do anything ... Whatever you do whether it be in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Colossians 3:17). In the early Church as recorded in the book of Acts, they did everything in the name of Jesus Christ. The authorities of that time could not stand that name being used all the time. They were so intimidated with that name they took Peter and John into custody and threatened them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. (Acts 4:17b & 18). Were they afraid by this commandment of men? No! They prayed for more boldness to speak Gods Word and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of Thy holy child [servant] Jesus. (Acts 4:30). (Bold print added for emphasis.) As new creations in Christ, lets do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. |
