One of the great keys for any person succeeding at anything is having a
defined purpose. Having a purpose is essential to successful living. Ask any
successful person and they will tell you that the most significant step you
can take in achieving success is defining your purpose.
Isaiah 14:24 & 27:
The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it
come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand
is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Perhaps the greatest realization any man or woman who is born again can
know is that they are the object of God's purpose.
II Timothy 1:9:
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our
works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in
Christ Jesus before the world began,
Just think about it! We have been called with a special calling, a holy
calling. It was not from our own accomplishments but by God's own purpose. And
not only that, but it was God's intention before the world began!
We are the object of God's desire, His will. He has made us very special
because the Father purposed it. It says in Proverbs 15:22 that, "without
counsels purpose are disappointed." In light of this God counseled with
Himself to the extent, "that we should be to the praise of His
glory." That sure makes us very special in the eyes of our loving
Heavenly Father.
Ephesians 1:11 & 12:
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according
to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own
will:
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Isn't that just too good to be true! Our loving Heavenly Father took the
time to talk it over with Himself and came up with a plan that you and I would
be to the praise of His glory. God is so good!
There is only one place in the whole Bible that declares God's eternal
purpose regarding us and Jesus Christ. The benefits are just phenomenal
because of it. We have boldness and access before the Creator of the Heavens
and Earth!
Ephesians 3:11 and 12:
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
You and I benefit beyond our wildest dreams. We are, as born again ones,
the object of His purpose.
Knowing this reality opens a fabulous relationship with our Heavenly Father
because we know we are the object of His purpose.
Romans 8:28:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to his purpose.
We are really something. If we ever get down and feel unloved, we just need
to think of these Scriptures that unfold God's love and grace to us. We have
the greatest retirement plan ever - to be ever with the lord Jesus Christ and
our Father at any moment when Christ returns for us. Until then we can bask in
the knowledge of how special we really are in God's eyes. Let's think of
ourselves as God thinks of us.
Remember, purpose gives meaning and value to our lives. We are a dynamic
part of God's purpose. He wants us to be fulfilled. Purpose provides us with a
reason to become the person God meant for us to be.
Now, knowing our integral part of the Body of Christ we need to establish
our purpose. We are truly on a mission from God!
With purpose; we can move "mountains" when we know where we are
going. Otherwise, we are like a ship without a rudder, bound to drift
aimlessly.
Take charge of your life. We are what the Word of God says we are; we will
be what the Word of God says we will be. We are purpose driven sons of God
with the power of Christ in us! Let's live in the joy of these great
realities.
Colossians 1:10-13:
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in
every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all
patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of
the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us
into the kingdom of his dear Son:
