Honor and a Privilege

I thought to myself, "would I see him or even greater yet, would I meet him?" Ronald Reagan, the president of the United States was visiting San Diego and I was determined to meet him. The crowd was getting larger at this outside event. I tried to move forward but there were just too many people and the men with dark glasses and ear plugs, surrounded the president. I got barely 100 feet from him. "Oh well, who am I to speak to the president."

I never did get to meet my college president. I never met any of my congressmen; or any governors, or any presidents. I worked for IBM for 10 years and never met my CEO. The same is true with Canon. When I was in the Marine Corps, I never met nor talked with the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

All this disappointment in not having the opportunity in meeting some people of renown does not matter anymore. Why? I have met someone Who is way beyond them in power and prestige. I now have, and carry on, a daily conversation with the Creator of the Heavens and Earth - God Almighty, the Father of the lord Jesus Christ. This is available for every believer who has entered into the family of God by way of the new birth (Romans 10:9 & I Peter 1:23).

Joyce Meyer expressed this honor and privilege in one of her books:

I cannot imagine a higher honor than being able to talk to and hear from God, and I believe prayer is the greatest privilege of our lives. It's not something we have to do; it's something we get to do. Prayer is the way we partner with God to see His plans and purposes come to pass in our lives and in the lives of those we love. It is the means by which we human beings on Earth can actually enter into the awesome presence of God. It allows us to share our cares with Him, to listen for His voice, and to know how to discover and enjoy all the great things He has for us. Communicating with God is indeed the greatest privilege I can think of, but this high and holy work is also the simplest privilege I know.
        (From hearing from God each morning by Joyce Meyer, page 16)

Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Agape,

Bob

The Largest Gathering of Angels

I may be wrong on this, but the largest recorded gathering of angels took place out on a field just outside of Bethlehem.

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Lamentations 3:22-26

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
