It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord,
And to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High:
For Thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work:
I will triumph [sing for joy] in the works of thy hands.
Psalms 92:1 and 4.
We as believers surely appreciate living in a nation that designates one day a year to thank God for His goodness and mercy. But, as believers, we recognize that thanksgiving should be a daily expression. It should be an essential part of our life.
In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I Thessalonians 5:18.
We have been passed from death unto life, from without God and without hope, to sons of God with eternal life, awaiting the return of Christ. As God’s children we have so much to be thankful for.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet
to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Colossians 1:12.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 15:55 and 57.
As we allow the Word of God to visit our minds constantly and as we express our gratefulness for Godly truths by singing and speaking in tongues much, our hearts will be at peace in this troubled world.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
Teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
Colossians 3:15-17.
Let’s remember it is a good thing to be always thankful.
Giving thanks always for all things unto God,
and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:20.
