The Victory That Overcomes the World

E-mail Print PDF

There is only one step we have to take in realizing the victory that overcomes the world. That step is faith or believing.

I John 5:4:
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

How much believing does it take to manifest results?

Luke 17:6:
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

A mustard seed is pretty small, and yet that is what it takes to bear fruit. One person who understands what is takes to produce fruit is the farmer. What does he do? There are 4 basic steps he takes.

  1. He prepares the soil. He gets rid of stones and debris that get in the way.
  2. He plants the seed. He puts it in the prepared soil.
  3. Next he waters it and may even fertilize it.
  4. He is patient for the fruit to arrive and then picks it.

As we endeavor to manifest believing victory in our lives we can do the same thing.

  1. We prepare our hearts with God’s Word by getting rid of fearful attitudes and worrisome words that are contrary to what we desire from the promises of God.
  2. We sow our believing seed by confessing what we desire to see come to pass.
  3. We strengthen our resolve by feeding our mind God’s Word so that fear, worry and doubt do not creep in and steal our fruit.
  4. We patiently wait knowing God will bring His promises to pass. We are fully convinced of Him doing His part.

Remember we are sons of God. Our Father wants the best for us. He so desires to provide and bless us fully and completely. We just need to stay confident and maintain our patience.

Hebrews 10:35 & 36:
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

It is important we maintain positive confessions of God’s Word to see our results. Just like the centurion said to Jesus, “But speak the word only, and my servant will be healed.” Or like the Shunamite woman, having already seen her son dead, but still declared when answering the greeting of the man of God, “It is well.” She just knew he would bring life back into her son. Or remember in a horrendous storm at sea Paul declared, “be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.” And finally Peter took advantage of the invitation of Jesus Christ to come out and walk upon the water. He boldly stepped out and walked on the water until he took his eyes off Christ and was influenced by the stormy conditions and began to fear and subsequently sink.

We too can have victory over anything in this world. All we have to do is step out of the boat and believe.

Peace, peace is flooding my soul.

Peace, peace since Christ made me whole.

I now have salvation and no condemnation.

The river of peace floods my soul.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

I Corinthians 15:52
