Looking For Rest?

E-mail Print PDF

Matthew 11:28-30:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

These words, spoken thousands of years ago, are as timely today as ever. To find rest and freedom from the burdens we carry, will require Jesus Christ and his help.

There was a time in my life where I tried to not only carry the burdens of life, but tried to resolve them all as well. It was a foolish and futile attempt. Maybe you too have felt this way at times.

We find ourselves in an uptight, frustrating and demanding world. Instant gratification has become status quo. Yet with all its promises of happiness and peace, the world does not give us the internal joy and rest we seek.

Matt. 4:4:
But he answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Only when a man comes to a knowledge of God’s Word and accepts the work of Jesus Christ, will that man be truly free and find rest to his soul. Today can be your day of finding rest. Why not learn of Jesus Christ and his ways. Then you too will have rest in your soul.

Philippians 3:8 & 9:
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Philippians 4
:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway:
and
again I say, Rejoice.
:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
