The challenge for believers is do we really recognize who we are in God’s eyes, or do we succumb to the a walk of worldly compromises.
As born again ones we have something tremendous inside of us. God’s magnificent love for us is manifested in that we have “Christ in you the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). As God looks upon us He does not focus on our human frailties or selfish desires, but who He has made us in Christ. The unbelievable truth of the matter is, is that we are highly favored in His eyes.
Ephesians 1:12:
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
We are to the praise of His glory! The word glory is “that appearance of a person or thing that attracts attention or commands recognition.” Just think, we are to the adulation of His brilliance and splendor!
With this reality we have something to live for and get excited about. Our motivation to walk the path of life is no more dominated by worldly influences, but stark reality of being a son of God to the praise of His glory. God has called us to walk in this glory.
I Thessalonians 2:11 and 12:
As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
Our Heavenly Father has actually commanded us to walk as His glory. It is like someone gives us a million dollars. Then he says, “Walk like a millionaire.” Not a difficult thing to do is it?
Really, the truth of the situation is, is that we are bought with a price. Jesus Christ gave his life and died for us and God raised him from the dead so that we could now be purchased by him to the Father.
I Corinthians 6:19 and 20:
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
You do not belong to yourself. What a concept! We belong to the Heavenly Father.
God has now called us, even commanded us to now walk the walk of glory. It is not about us anymore but all about being His kids having the time of lives walking the glory road.
II Corinthians 4:6 and 7:
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Yes, we still get hit up with the junk of the world. But we do not have to allow it to dictate how we live our lives. If the adversary knocks us down, we get right back up and move ahead being better for the experience. These encounters with the evil one is nothing more than a “light affliction” that gives us an “eternal weight of glory.”
II Corinthians 4:16-18:
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Let’s decide each and every day that we will walk this glory walk !
