Sometimes I am faithful and sometimes I am not. Sometimes I am in the right place and sometimes I am not. In spite of being "sometimes," I am thankful our Heavenly Father is "always". He is always faithful.
The lord Jesus Christ, God's son, did not operate in the "sometimes" but consistently in the "always." "...[F]or I do always those things that please Him" (John 8:29b). Even now, having ascended into heaven with the Father, Jesus Christ has an "always" job as mentioned in Hebrews 7:25: "...seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
When it comes to our relationship with God are not we "thankful unto God which always causeth us to triumph in Christ" (II Corinthians 2:14b). There is no "sometimes" with God and His son Jesus Christ. It is "always". The Greek word for "always" is pantote which is a combination of two root words meaning "ever" and "constantly".
A very comforting Scripture using this word and concerning the Gathering Together of the saints is:
I Thessalonians 4:17:
Then we which are alive, and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever [pantote] be with the Lord.
There are a number of "always" things that God asks us to do:
I Thessalonians 5:16:
Rejoice evermore [pantote].Philippians 4:4:
Rejoice in the Lord always [pantote]: and again I say, Rejoice.Ephesians 5:20:
Giving thanks always [pantote] for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Colossians 4:6:
Let your speech be always [pantote] with grace seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Even though we may not always rise up to do God's Word; We are sure thankful God is always there when we do. With Him there is no partially, no maybe, no sometimes. It is always!
