We were all born into the bondage of this world. Not knowing any better we were ruled by our emotions, appetites, drugs, alcohol and every quick fix we could conger up. We lived for the now because life was short and cheap. As long as Satan could keep us entertained with the things of the world, it kept us in bondage. We were kept captive and imprisoned by the delights dangled in front of us.
Our lives were in ruins and we didn’t even know it. Even though we didn’t deserve God’s kindness and love, God still had a plan to liberate all of us from the bondage and buy us back by way of His son, Jesus Christ. God’s plan involved His son Jesus Christ. His obedience to the Father’s will made God’s plan possible. He was the payment for our lives that would liberate us from the bondage we were in. Our liberty did not come cheap. It came from God’s unselfish love for mankind and His need for a family.
Galatians 5:1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Christ delivered us and gave us our freedom from the grasp of this world. God paid a very heavy price for us. We need to be thankful every minute of the day for the liberty He gave to all of us. Not only did God rescue us out of bondage, He placed us in His family.
Colossians 1:13: [Darby Translation] and hath rescued us from the dominion of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved son;
We need to always remember that it was God’s love, grace and mercy, as well as Jesus Christ’s obedience that make it possible for us to be set free from the bondage we were born into. We are no longer dead but we have newness of life. God is our faithful Father.
II Corinthians 5:19: To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
We need to let everyone know that he is everyone’s savior. This is our time to give back to God by doing the work He has sent us to do. Our roles in the family business should be to liberate those who are still walking in bondage.
