What Counts in Life

E-mail Print PDF
During these difficult times, nobody would refute the desires of man to obtain what really counts in life. What really counts at this juncture of life obviously includes having all of our needs met. These needs would include finances, along with physical fitness or good health and the ability to make wise decisions.

There are some of us in this world that would respond quite differently than what is reflected in the previous paragraph. The believer who is born again of God's spirit delights to live by God's will which is found in God's Word.

Jeremiah 9:23 and 24:
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

The believer of God throughout history has always had the hope of success and fulfillment through the Author of Life. Regardless of dark times and feeble conditions the believer has never been abandoned. Even during the desperate times of Jeremiah, God was never far away.

Lamentations 3:21-26:
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

The born again one in the Administration of Grace can always be encouraged. We can have confidence in our Heavenly Father.

Hebrews 13:5 and 6:
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

God has many more resources than the world has. Let's find them in God's Word and build up our confidence in Him.

Hebrews 10:35:
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

Our Challenge

The god of this world will try to bait us into doing his programs of economic relief. Our challenge is to maintain our godliness trusting in Him.

I Timothy 4:7 and 8:
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

We have the benefit of God's blessings upon our life now and in the future to come.

What Counts in Life

What counts in life now, and forever, is God's matchless Word. He has so flooded us with His love and blessings that can be utilized by us regardless of the economic conditions of the world. Let's lovingly take advantage of His blessings.

What counts in life is that you are blessed.

What counts in life is that you have the assurance of God's benefits in your life now and forever.

What counts in life is you can freely minister to others the wonderful goodness of God.

What counts in life is your cherished relationship with the Heavenly Father.

What counts in life is that we can endeavor to remember all His benefits.

What counts in life is that we can love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength.

and
again I say, Rejoice.
:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
