Our Identification with Christ

E-mail Print PDF

In a Seven-Fold Way

Due to our physical birth, we all belong to the natural man line of Adam. Those of us who are born-again by believing Romans 10:9, belong to the spiritual line of Christ. When we were born again we were fully and completely, as well as, legally identified with Christ.

Our identification can be recognized in a seven-fold way: We were crucified with him; we died with him; we were buried with him; we were quickened (made alive) with him; we were raised with him; we were seated with him and we will appear with him in glory.

Seven-Fold Identification

Crucified with him

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Died with him

Romans 6:3: Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Buried with him

Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Raised with him

Colossians 2:12: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Quickened (made alive) with him

Ephesians 2:5: Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Seated with him

Ephesians 2:6: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Appear with him in glory

Colossians 3:4: When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

I Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

I Corinthians 15:52
