God is faithful and true in everything that He says and does. Therefore we can count on the promises of God in the Bible to be absolutely trustworthy. What He has spoken must come to pass. God established his faithfulness in the heavens long before the written Word.

Psalms 89:1,2:
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

When God makes a covenant He cannot break it.

Psalms 89:33-37:
Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer (allow) my faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.

It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

What is the first step in receiving all the wonderful realities in God's Word? We must believe God is faithful to His Word. He *cannot not fulfill His Word. As Peter began to take Jesus Christ's encouragement to walk on the water, he had to take that first step. He had to fully believe Jesus' Word.

Numbers 23:19:
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

The promises of God don't depend on your abilities but God's. All we do is walk out expectantly.

Psalm 130:5 & 6:
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait [expect], and in his word do I hope.
My soul waiteth [expectantly] for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

The one thing that keeps people from taking the first step is fear. It takes feeding our minds on the word of God to dispel the influences of the adversary. Don't let your own mouth waver on the promises of God. You speak: God said it, that settles it. We need to expect that God will absolutely fulfill His Word.

I Thessalonians 5:24:
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Hebrews 10:23:
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Let's encourage each other to step out of the boat and onto the promises of God and receive all that our loving Heavenly Father has for us. He wants to bless us and fulfill His Word in our lives. We just have to realize His faithfulness to do it, for *He cannot not fulfill His Word.

*[This statement is a Jeanie-ism, which is a figure of speech by Jeanie meaning: God will absolutely fulfill His Word]
