A seed contains the very essence of life. Seeds with its DNA carry all the traits and characteristics of that organism. All that we are, started with one very tiny egg and sperm.
Of all the ways to communicate what the Heavenly Father was going to do to redeem mankind, He chose to declare that a seed from the woman would come.
Genesis 3:15:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This promise by God Almighty begins the most monumental story of redemption ever told. The promised seed would be carried throughout the Old Testament times until its fruition with the birth of the lord Jesus Christ.
Looking at the original promise in Genesis 3:15, we obviously know the seed did not come from a woman, but from God Almighty: “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:35).
With the birth of the redeemer, the lord Jesus Christ, begins a series of events that provided for mankind a salvation from eternal death to a life eternal with the Heavenly Father.
Romans 5:18 & 21:
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
As born again ones we have experienced the new birth with incorruptible seed. The new birth has a greater purpose.
Our lives take on a whole new purpose when we got born again with incorruptible seed.
I Peter 1:23:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
I Peter 1:3 & 4:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
And it all started with a seed. You and I now have the assurance of all the traits and characteristics that is wrapped up in the incorruptible new birth seed.
