Likemindedness

E-mail Print PDF

An important key to the success of any endeavor by a group of people is that they are likeminded. They have to come together on what is the goal they can agree on and be of one mind on the plan to achieve it.

This key is vital when it comes to born again believers walking with and for God Almighty endeavoring to do His will.

1Timothy 2:4:
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

This is God’s primary goal. He is our Father and we are His sons. By this eternal association we are in the family business of winning souls, and making known the integrity of God’s incredible Word.

We must understand that likemindedness is not about what Church I attend or who I align myself to. It is not about following organizations or people. It is about recognizing what God has called us to do in the Body of Christ and faithfully doing it.

Philippians 2:1 and 2:

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

God’s joy is connected to his children being likeminded. For us to experience this kind of togetherness we first need to be spiritually minded, not carnally minded.

Romans 8:6-8:
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

When it comes to working together, the following attitude helps tremendously.

Philippians 2:4 and 5:
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Jesus Christ’s mind was motivated by love and energized by God’s constant presence in his life. We too can “walk in love as Christ…” (Ephesians 5:2). We are God’s habitation (Ephesians 2:22). Jesus Christ is our complete example in attitude and lifestyle living.

Romans 15:6 and 7:
That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

1 Peter 3:8:
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

As believers we are most fulfilled when we walk by the spirit and help others. There is no greater way to assist in other people’s lives than to share with them the “Words of Life.”

Philippians 2:12 -16:
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

We have only one life to live on this earth. Let’s live it God’s way by working together to move the “Words of Life” over the world.

Philippians 4
:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway:
and
again I say, Rejoice.
:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
