No greater gift can a person receive than the gift of holy spirit which God gives a person when they are born again. This gift of holy spirit allows you to become a dynamic giver.
We become like our Heavenly Father and our brother Jesus Christ as we use the spirit to bring deliverance to people. God never designed His gift to be self serving or to be displayed on the shelf. He gave us His nature so we would respond by acting out His nature of love and giving.
The nine manifestations of the gift of holy spirit are designed so that you can minister to others and be a blessing to the Father.
Speaking in tongues allows you to talk with the Father. It also allows you to pray for others perfectly. Tongues with interpretation and prophecy are used to edify and build up the assembly of believers with exhortation and comfort. Word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discerning of spirits opens the door for God to communicate to you about situations and what to do so that deliverance will come. The manifestations of faith, miracles and gifts of healing allow us to unleash God’s magnificent power.
Not only does the gift of holy spirit allow us to keep giving via its manifestations but other aspects about the gift challenge us to give. “…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the holy ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5b). This gives us the capacity to love people beyond any human love can muster up.
We can determine in our heart to “…lay down our lives for the brethren.” (I John 3:16b).The words “lay down” mean to “give or appoint” in the Greek.
Let’s look at our lives filled with the power of God through Christ in us and the availability of the nine manifestations and then by our free will, appoint ourselves to give and serve in the Body of Christ as a gift that keeps giving.
