You may think you know who you really are, but if you have participated in the miracle of all miracles – the new birth by confessing Romans 10:9 & 10 – there is an aspect of your life that far exceeds anything that you may realize.
God, at that very moment of confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and believing that God has raised him from the dead, made you a whole new person. You have become a new creation in Christ.
II Corinthians 5:17:
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature [creation]: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You are a whole new creation in Christ. It is much more than something added to your life. In God’s eyes, you are a totally new being. Most importantly you indentify fully with Jesus Christ. God set up the most fantastic legal arrangement possible by declaring that we have died with Christ (Romans 6:8); that you have been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20); that you have been baptized in Christ (Romans 6:3); that you have been raised with Christ and that you are seated at the right hand with God the Father (Ephesians 2:6). Now that is quite an association!
There are no strings attached to God’s love and grace. We fully belong to the Heavenly Father. Included in this phenomenal arrangement is Christ in you the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). You cannot get any more complete!
Colossians 2:10:
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
The real you is much more than what you think. The real me is more than 6 feet 5 inches, dark hair, a coach, a teacher, a husband and a dad. The real me is one that totally belongs to God by the legal association of identifying fully with all that Christ legally did for my redemption.
The greatness of who you really are and the proper response to such a privilege is expounded in Romans, Chapter 8:
Romans 8:6-12:
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Most Christians seem to be debtors of the flesh rather than of the spirit. Our contribution to this relationship pales to what our Heavenly Father has done on our behalf. He asks very little from us other than to share His Word with others and to love one another.
Galatians 5:13b:
… but by love serve one another.
I know much of the teachings this time of the year is focused on Jesus Christ our Passover, which is fantastic. With this abundance of knowledge we are truly enriched. The loving thing to do now is share it with others.
Our challenge is now to stand up and be counted as ones who recognize our precious calling as ministers of reconciliation.
II Corinthians 5:18b:
… and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
The most responsible thing we can do is hold forth the Words of Life to everyone we meet.
Philippians 2:16:
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Any day our lord and savior will appear to take us home. Let’s remember who we really are – sons of God with power! Let the “real you” stand up and live for our Heavenly Father. Let’s worship the Father, speak in tongues much, and renew our minds to who we “really” are in Christ. Let’s speak the Words of Life to those who need to hear it.
Let the real you stand up and be counted.

Just for you and just for Him
God made the earth, just for you.
God made the heavens and stars and the universe, just for you.
God made eternal life, just for you.
God made Jesus Christ, just for you.
God made the gift of holy spirit, just for you.
God made the family of God, just for you.
God made the nine manifestations, just for you.
God made the hope of Christ return, just for you.
God made the new birth realities, just for you.
In light of these realities:
Why not speak in tongues much, just for Him.
Why not speak forth the Words of Life, just for Him.
Why not renew your mind to God’s Word, just for Him.
Why not live your life, just for Him.
Why not spend much of your time in praise, just for Him.
Why not “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matthew 22:37) – Just for Him.
