One of the most impressive quotes of the audible voice of God is referred to in II Peter 1:17:
II Peter 1:17:
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
The creator of all and everything was extremely blessed with His son. He expressed it by declaring with audible words that He was honored in him. And why not, this was His son who did His perfect will even to the death on the cross.
How can I honor God the Father? He is certainly due all of our respect and love. Look what He has done for us including eternal life, new birth spirit, fellowship with Him and fellowship with likeminded believers.
The first thing we should do, and this is true of every soul on the face of the earth. We honor the lord Jesus Christ. And then we should serve him as head of the One Body.
John 5:23:
That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
John 12:26:
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
As born again ones with Christ within, we should humbly, yet proudly stand and serve him. Also we serve together in the family of God honoring one another.
Romans 12:10:
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
We value ourselves and exercise self control as we function in the Body of Christ.
I Thessalonians 4:4:
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
II Timothy 2:21:
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
If this is what blesses our Heavenly Father, then you and I want to be an honor to Him as well. It should become our normal lifestyle. Let’s live a life that is truly an honor to Him, so that He can say to us, “This is my son, in whom I am well pleased.”
